This song is about Paisley the 1960 Euro Bug that was the second of our Charity Beetle giveaway cars. I really wanted (for some unknown fucking reason) to prove that I could design a car that was more 'stock' than the other cars I had designed up to that point. So I tried to find a middle ground between my typical flair and basic stock boring. And people had a lot to say about it 😂 So this is basically just paying homage to the haters.
This was one of the first songs I created when I started back into music and I was still too nervous to use my own voice. Plus I had it in my head that it had to be a male voice, so while I wrote the music and lyrics for the first version, I used an AI voice. This year I decided I wanted to re-record some of the older tracks to be more in keeping with my style and use my own voice (albeit heavily synthesised). While I wouldn't say I was 'embarrassed' by the original version, I just knew I could make it better. So I did.
